4. Legal basis

We rely on performance of a contract where you are a client; our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running the practice; your consent for marketing emails, which you may withdraw at any time; and our legal obligations where retention or reporting is required of us.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where necessary: with regulated solicitors or barristers instructed on your matter, with HMRC and Companies House where a filing requires it, with Acas or a tribunal in a dispute, and with our IT and email providers acting on our instructions.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become instructions are deleted after [12 months]. Client files are retained for [6 years] after the matter closes, reflecting limitation periods and our professional record-keeping obligations. Accounting records are kept for the period required by HMRC.

7. Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to delete it where we have no continuing reason to hold it, to object to or restrict processing, and to receive it in a portable format.
